The story
The Gimlet's origin is disputed but its association with the Royal Navy is not — Rose's Lime Juice, the original gimlet ingredient, was invented in 1867 to prevent scurvy on long voyages. The drink that resulted was lime, gin (later vodka), and bottled cordial. A fresh gimlet — using real citrus, real sweetener, and a spirit worth tasting — is a different category of drink entirely. This garden gimlet uses cucumber-mint syrup to extend the template into spring territory. The cucumber provides a green freshness that amplifies Latitude 42's clean body; the mint is aromatic without being aggressive.
Tasting note
Pale green and elegant. Cucumber leads the nose, mint emerges mid-palate, and the lime finishes with clean authority. A gimlet for the greenhouse.
