The story
There's a category of drinks that exist for summer porches, spring patios, and any outdoor space where time moves differently. They're long, cold, slightly complex, and almost impossible to dislike. This is one of those drinks. It owes a debt to the Singapore Sling's long-format gin-and-juice tradition and to the Southern tradition of putting things on ice and sitting down with them. The combination of cucumber juice with elderflower and Juliet Gin is the kind of combination that feels obvious the moment you taste it. The gin's lemon note matches with the cucumber's freshness; the cherry note floats beneath like a pleasant surprise.
Tasting note
Pale green and clean — cucumber freshness leads, followed by elderflower's sweetness and gin's botanical depth. The lemon keeps everything from drifting toward softness. This drink has no sharp edges and needs none.
